El Portal, Miami Shores & Biscayne Park

Miami Shores Village has a small town feel despite being surrounded by larger urban centers. Originally an agricultural hub with grapefruit groves and pineapple plantations, the master plan for the village was conceived in the 20’s and promised the area to become “America’s Mediterranean”. Miami Shores prides itself on its historic character, manicured landscaping, and proximity to Biscayne Bay. Demographically, it has become more diverse over the decades. While incomes are about average for the county, home values tend to be high.
Neighboring El Portal and Biscayne Park villages are also tight-knit communities with townhomes and single-family homes nestled amongst lush landscaping and parks. Overall, these 3 neighborhoods strive to balance small town living with big city amenities close by.
